Desert tour from Agadir to Merzouga

Our desert excursion commences at dawn as we depart from Agadir. En route, we make a captivating stop at the ancient ramparts of Taroudant city, immersing ourselves in its resplendent history and irresistible charm. Our journey then continues to Taliouine, renowned as the saffron production hub of Morocco, where we visit the Saffron Cooperative—a captivating establishment that provides profound insights into the saffron cultivation industry.

Next, we set our sights on the magnificent Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This awe-inspiring red earth fortress stands majestically along the ancient road of the Kasbahs, showcasing the architectural marvels of the region. We then proceed to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” owing to its impressive film studios that have hosted renowned movies such as “Gladiator” and “The Sheltering Sky.” Here, you will check into your Riad/Hotel for an exquisite dinner and a serene night’s repose.

As the sun ascends over Ouarzazate, we embark on the mesmerizing “Road of the Thousand Kasbahs,” where captivating sandcastles seemingly emerge from the arid landscape. Our adventure leads us to Kalaat Mgouna, famously known as the “Roses City” for its vibrant rose cultivation and annual rose festival in May. From there, we continue to the breathtaking Dades Valley and Tinghir, where we will witness the resplendence of the Todra Valley. Continuing our drive, we traverse the majestic Todra Gorge and the stunning Dades Gorge. Our journey continues as we traverse the Tizi-n-Ikhsane and Tizi-n-Tighatine passes, offering breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscapes.
